ADI Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) Reference Design: A Key Control Solution for Liquid Cooling Systems
This reference design is built around the AD74416H with software-configurable SWIO channels, enabling the CDU to flexibly interface with a wide range of sensors and actuators while significantly reducing board space and bill-of-materials (BOM) costs. The system allows precise monitoring of coolant flow, pressure, and temperature, and supports modular scalability to meet the thermal management needs of various application scenarios.
Combined with ADI’s isolated power module (e.g., ADP1032), ultra-low-power microcontroller (e.g., MAX32651), and secure authentication IC (e.g., DS28S60), the solution ensures reliable power delivery, communication isolation, and robust system security. ADI’s one-stop component integration enables developers to rapidly build efficient, stable, and scalable liquid cooling control systems. This makes it especially suitable for data centers, HPC servers, industrial liquid cooling equipment, ATE systems, and energy storage systems (ESS) or EV battery platforms requiring precise thermal management.
