Power Micro Drives Green Semiconductor Manufacturing with Particle & Alkaline DI Water Tech

Power Micro International is a research-driven company with decades of expertise in precision machining and surface treatment. In 2014, it introduced particle reinforcement and polishing technology from Fuji Manufacturing in Japan. In 2017, it incorporated tungsten disulfide fullerene (IF-WS₂) from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. In 2024, it co-developed PH13.2 alkaline deionized water with Cool Technology Co., Ltd. of Japan. In 2025, it partnered with SW Chemical of Japan to develop nano-diamond fullerene coatings, while maintaining a long-term collaboration with the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre to enhance application processes.

Using its patented surface treatment technology, the company has successfully resolved adhesion issues with aluminum alloy and stainless steel tags in semiconductor processes, enabling multiple reuses. Molds can now operate without release agents, and dry cutting tools achieve a lifespan 3 to 5 times longer. Additionally, catalytic electrolysis of alkaline deionized water is applied in semiconductor component cleaning, reducing deionized water consumption by 20 to 30%.

As Taiwan continues to be a critical hub for global semiconductor manufacturing, the recycling and reuse of consumables play a key role in advancing TSMC’s ESG commitments. By reducing the consumption of metal parts, cutting tools, molds, and water resources, Power Micro helps lower carbon emissions, enhances sustainability benefits, and contributes to building a greener, more responsible supply chain.
